Little Dreams Kid Courageous
"Courage"
This
remarkable colt had a very scary entrance into this world. We were out of town, he was premature, and his mom had no
milk. Our vet is over 2 hours away, and the wonderful helpers that we had taking care of the horses were doing everything
they could while we were on the phone talking them thru When the vet arrived, he immediately decided that the colt
and mom should go to the equine hospital in Oregon, nearly 3 hours away. We were calling everyone we knew, but no one
had a horse trailer available or had the connections to borrow our trailer, so Dr. Essex put the colt on his front seat of
his truck and towed our trailer with mom all the way to the equine hospital in Gold Point, Oregon. With his fantastic
help and the great vets of Rogue Valley Equine Hospital, Courage came through it all. He earned his name that day.
We drove down from Washington and picked him up about 7:00 p.m. that night. Dr. Essex had spent most of his day taking
care of our horse, including 7 hours of driving. What a great vet!
Dr. Essex was thrilled along with us when Courage took a World Top Ten at the 2009 AMHA World Championship
show in Texas.
He's an absolute sweetheart of a boy,
too! Great conformation, movement, upright and ready to take on the world! He already has and he came out
among the best!
As proud as we are of Courage, we must
continue to bring down the number of horses in our barn! Courage is available for sale!
